- I must be dreaming here. There is 4/8/16/32 serial ports on one card for
- the PC. It even comes with Windoze drivers. What's the difference with
- that and the Amiga with a file in the expansion drawer ? DOS was the
- problem as always.

- Sure if you call 64-bit Blitters, ALU, colour interpolation, some MPEG
- support over the old fram buffer. Right now the AGA is in a sorry state.

- The Russian made Intel knock-offs CPUs are in better shape. You just
- have to avoid certain instructions. :) :) :)
-
- Last time I heard AAA is still 80% working. There need to be a couple of
- silicon runs and quite a bit of OS work towards RTG. By the time you get
- RTG, you might want to support SVGA Accelerators in the first place. Can
- you post a list what AAA can do ? I'll match it item by item with the ATI
- Mach64 chipset spec I have here.

-
- That's the problem. IF AAA were ready and shipped with A1200 and new ones
- were in the works back then, it would make sense to stick with it as new
- rev. would ave been ready by now. The only problem is this project has
- been asleep for so long that it isn't possible to catch up any more.
- Companies like ATI Technology spent $15 millions US last year just for R&D
- into making graphics stuff.
-
- Why make you own chip when others are pouring R&D money ? You save lead
- time & cost buying it from othgers. It is not like AT is making their own
- MC68060 anyway. RTG works with SVGA Accelerators as well as AAA.
